You can set the cartridge down on a flat surface with the ink surface nozzle facing up. You can then moisten the Q tip with distilled water. You need to make sure that you ring out any excess water from the Q-tip. You can then begin to wipe the surface of the nozzle tip with the Q tip in a sweeping motion. This should be very easy to do, and you should not run into any problems.
After you have followed and completed all of these instructions, you can then continue this same process until there is no more residue that appears on the Q-tip. This can take a longer length of time depending on the amount of residue that is present. If this procedure is done often enough, you will not have to worry about running into problems, and you will find it very easy to clean the next time you go in to clean the nozzle.
When you are finished cleaning the nozzle, you can then safely return the cartridge to the printer. You should also remember to align the print cartridge with your printer’s alignment function.
