This is Your Brain on Pugs!

April 3, 2008 at 9:30 pm by J*B*

Have I told you yet? I want a pug! They are my absolute favorite! I know, I know. I say that about all of the breeds (and mixed breeds!) but I really mean it. I LOVE PUGS! Their smooshy little facial expressions, their pig-like curly tails, their tongues that tend to be too big for their mouths … Everything about pugs is so ridiculously cute, I have to have one!

So, needless to say, when I see really funny, creative pug stuff I tend to freak out and tell myself: “Self, (that’s me) put this unbelievably pugtastic stuff on Pet-Pet right this minute.” And that’s exactly what I did when I saw Mod Pug on etsy.

Mod Pug creates funny magnets and belt buckles with images of Stella, the incredibly beautiful pug, posed with pug puns (Lord knows I love a good pun!) and as pop culture personas. And, a portion of each sale goes to Pug Rescue! How cool it that?

So, don’t be meshuggapug. Check out Stella and all her grooves at Mod Pug right now!

Kawaii Monkey Cuteness

Those big eyes in the center of the head. The cute, tiny smile. The simple illustration. All of these ultra-adorable attributes put together can only mean one thing: Kawaii. Kawaii is a Japanese term that refers to “cuteness.”

According to Wikipedia, “Since the 1970s, cuteness … has become a prominent aspect of Japanese popular culture, entertainment, clothing, food, toys, personal appearance, behavior, and mannerisms.”

And I have become completely obsessed with it. And now your dog can, too!

Niko the Monkey, found at Mu*Shu, is a great example of kawaii and how intriguing the trend truly is.

Check out Niko’s friends, Frodo, the Appleheads and Muffinboy for more Kawaii fun.
