New Bodhi India Toys

July 30, 2007 at 8:07 am by J*B*

I am a fan of henna tattoos, or the art of Mendhi (Mehndi). Mehndi is the application of henna as a temporary form of skin decoration, popular in the Middle East and South Asia. Its intricate designs are simply amazing, as well as the meaning behind certain motifs.

So, leave it to Bodhi Toys, the creators or the beautiful line Chinese-themed toys, to take the next step into India-themed toys.

Inspired by the delicate patterns of henna art, the artwork on their new India line were designed by a well-renown Mendhi artist. Both large and small Menhdi Balls are decorated with lotuses and leaves, and the Mendhi Mango (a toy which I positively love!) is a take on a customary and lucky mango motif.

Check out all of the other colorful and unique Bodhi India toys, and get your “Om” on!

WANTED!

WANTED!

… for kitty trafficking, impersonating a human or multiple toy homicide. Whichever “crime” your dog or cat has committed in the past, (or consistantly commits!) have the world aware of the potential danger of their behavior with their own “Wanted” poster.

Just like the outlaws had in the Wild West, have your dog’s mug shot placed on a custom-made poster, complete with bite marks instead of bullet holes!

All you have to do is check out 1 Cute Pooch online, pick a crime or make up your own, upload your pet’s photo, and let the site take over. They’ll send you the poster and then it’s up to you to spread the word about your criminal canine.

Scout’s is wanted for incessant cat stalking and butt sniffing. I think they may be felonies.

Pet-Related Puns!

July 22, 2007 at 2:06 pm by J*B*

Oh. My. Gawd. These new note cards we found are a dream come true. Tons of puns in one place. A punderland, if you will!

If you have spent any time at Pet-Pet, you know how we utterly adore the sheer brilliance of the pun. Well, it seems as if we are not the only ones. If fact, there is a site completely devoted to not just puns, but pet-related puns. Ladies and gentlemen, we have hit the jackpot.

At Swifthinking, they combine animal illustrations with clever puns. Take the Cat Napa note card with a snoozing calico in a wine glass. Or the Yankee Poodle all decked out in America’s best. The Bichon Frisée is an instant classic, and the Black LaBRAdor is my sexy favorite.

Each creative design comes in a box of 12 note cards complete with envelopes. I know I have said it before, but this site warrants it: These note cards are PUNDERFUL!

Gold Hearts

July 22, 2007 at 9:31 am by J*B*

I once had a friend, “had” being the operative word, (we don’t speak anymore) who was not an animal lover. That’s I okay, I thought. I didn’t want to be judgmental and figured her opinion was simply that—her opinion. So, the topic of dogs never really came up in our conversations, until one fateful day.

She mentioned that her boyfriend at the time had a golden retriever. Me, being the dog-lover that I am, went on and on about how wonderful goldens are—how sweet, loving and kind-hearted they are as a breed. A true best friend. After my rant, she just looked at me kind of cockeyed and responded, “I think they’re ugly.” Our friendship went downhill from there.

I don’t know. The fact that she said goldens were “ugly” spoke volumes to me about her character because not only are golden retrievers beautiful on the outside, there are simply spectacular on the inside. And again, I know that that was just her opinion, but in my mind, she was wrong (and maybe a little evil!)

What’s my point? I don’t know. I don’t really have one. I think I am just feeling introspective today. But, if you are a golden retriever lover, check out GoldHeart Golden Retrevier Rescue (GRREAT), an amazing golden rescue organization in Maryland I had the privilege of working with a couple of years ago.

Computer Geek Chic

July 21, 2007 at 12:49 pm by J*B*

Everyone knows it’s super-cute when you and your dog have matching outfits. But, when you are a computer mom, like me, constantly typing away on her laptop, (in her PJs most of the time!) what’s cooler than matching ensembles? Matching computers!

The Computer & Mouse Dog Toy could be the cutest dog toy yet—so geek chic! This stuffed cotton/canvas computer is adorable with its colorful website (home page!), mock keys and mouse—in the literal sense, of course!

PawPalace has some of the best dog toys around. You have to check out their entire line of plush toys, some of which I plan to blog about in the near future … So keep your peepers peeled.
