Cool Off in a Canine Cabana

May 30, 2006 at 8:31 pm by DarlaKitt

With the Memorial Day holiday behind us, it is time to relish the beginning of another summer. And what fun does summertime bring? Beaches, camping, backyard barbeques, picnics, and all sorts of other outdoor shenanigans. Whenever possible, doggie mamas love to bring their babies along for the fun, with their own fabulous accommodations of course.
Kot to Trot pet bed
This Kot-to-Trot portable canopy pet bed from our friends at Pet Snap is sure to make any outdoor excursion comfortable for your pampered pup. It’s made to be used outdoors, with sturdy powder-coated steel framing that can hold pets up to 120 pounds and weather, scratch and bite resistant canvas. It also features a jaunty striped nylon awning to provide a shady snoozing spot when doggie needs an escape from the summer sun. Plus, this adorable bed can be folded up in minutes and packs away neatly into a handy travel bag when it’s time to go.

By the pool, on the beach, or at a swingin’ backyard margarita party, what spoiled pooch doesn’t need his or her own personal cabana?

Sheer Cheetah Dog Dress
And good enough for my tough little lady dog, too. Of course, even when your pooch is one who is cool enough to buck fashion trends and sport some funky animal prints, you have to carefully choose pieces that don’t cross the line into trashy-land. We want an edgy look, not one that will make your pup look like a furry prostitute.

I believe that BarkSlope has a few fabulous dresses that toe that line perfectly. Their pink Sheer Cheetah Dress is accented with a chocolate-colored satin bow and finished off with a flirty ruffled skirt. Plus, the lightweight fabric is wonderful for dressing up in warmer weather. Read the rest of this entry »

We’re starting a new thing around Lipped, showcasing related (to Pet-Pet in this case) posts from the unrelated blogs in the network.

There was just one post, recently. Wahh. But it’s all about the family, including the pup.

Jake Gyllenhaal and family

Miss Cinnamon posted a photo of Jake Gyllenhaal with his parents and German Shepherd, Atticus, on Mother’s Day; hanging out at the beach.

Happy dog playing! It brings me back.
