Tongue Tied: Rope Toys—Fit for a Babe–I mean Pup

April 10, 2006 at 8:21 pm by J*B*

“They have the Internet on computers, now.”—Homer Simpson

You know what I love about the Internet? You can find anything—I mean anything—just by going online. For example, I love dog toys that look like baby toys but are really dog toys for puppies. Follow me?

Dog

At Jax & Bones—a wonderfully fresh and modern site—they have fun products for dogs of all ages. But what I fell in love with were their toys—their rope toys to be exact. Practically all of the rope toys I have found are rope-colored (boring!) and very hard and tough looking. But admittedly, that’s how they should be—rough and tough because these kinds of toys are made to be durable and resistant to aggressive chewers.

So, I just gonna put it out there: I think most rope toys are ugly. But not the rope toys at Jax and Bones! Take a gander … These ropies look like adorable baby toys. With their pastel coloring and animal-shaped bodies, these rope toys look so soft and cuddly a human baby could play with them. (But I wouldn’t recommend that!)

Nominated and rated by many magazines as one of the best toys for puppies and dogs, these amusing rope toys come in two sizes and are offered in three different animal shapes: Lucky the Dog, Jerry the Giraffe, and Jackie the Bear. And not only are these rope toys cute, they have been proven to improve dental health and guaranteed to provide hours of chewing, tugging fun!

I’m buying Lucky the Dog for Scout. I will let you know if they are a fantastic as they look.

Cool as Hell Retro Dog Prints

I love retro stuff and I love dogs. Put the two together and I have found the coolest prints to deck out your house in canine style. Mrs. Bones’ Retro Dog Prints are breed specific renderings of products and places, created in the kitschy-cool early 1900‘s advertising style.

There are 8 pages of prints, featuring over 50 different breeds, including Pet Pet’s own beloved Bostons, Border Collies, Bichons, and Yorkies.

For the BT lovers (including myself), check out the Lil’ Stinkers Biscuits print “for your bodacious Boston!”

Hey JB, think Scout is so smart? Well then you’ll just have to show off with the Border Collie - Patron Saint of Smarts print.

And to pay homage to LaLa Mama’s baby Charlotte is an adorable print advertising Beautiful Bichon Coffee’s Best Friend Blend.

The newest addition to my furry family, Yorkie-mix Mimi, will be honored by the print advertising Sweet Baby Brand Biscuits - “They’re Yorkie-licious!”

I also know there are a lot of Pug-loving Pet Pet readers who would be tickled by the print for The Portly Pug Pub, where patrons can “eat, drink and be puggy!”

These are just a few of the dozens of prints available, with many different designs for each breed, so you are sure to find one to match your décor and your fuzzy friend’s distinct personality as well.
