Distinctive Doggie Dining

March 25, 2006 at 4:37 pm by DarlaKitt

Aqua Wave
For a truly satisfying doggie dining experience, an exquisite dish is almost as important as the food we fill it with. And what doggie mama wants a hideous plastic or metal dog bowl busting the groove of our fashionable kitchen décor, anyway?
Geometric
Well, stylish dining can now be had by all, thanks to Kate Ward Thacker’s distinctive (and affordable) designer dog dishes, which I found at The Little River Pet Shop. These colorful ceramic bowls are available in small or large sizes at kick-ass bargain prices. Go for total coordination and pick up a matching placemat for … you’ll never believe it … less than two dollars!
Paw Power
Choose from the dreamy ocean-inspired Aqua Wave, the modern colorful Geometric, and the retro-chic Paw Power designs, and your pooch will be eating in style.

Extra bonus: these dishes are also the perfect sizes to plant small flower bulbs, herbs, or cat grass and catnip seeds.

Target: Amy Brazil

Usually in my blogs, I tend to stay away from the overly commercialized products sold via super-stores such as Wal-Mart and such. But today, I am going to stray from my rule. I was at Target yesterday when I noticed a new line of stationary (for people!)—Only Dogs by Amy Brazil.

GD1

Amy Brazil’s smart and sassy artwork is captured brilliantly in a unique and contemporary line of cards, stickers, and desk accessories, strictly for the dog lover in mind. All her designs are striking, from the gorgeous Boston Terrier (Attention, DarlaKitt!) with the gray Harlequin background to the sweet-faced Corgi with the appropriate British flag.

My personal favorite is the portrait of a huge Great Dane looking inquisitively at a tiny pink butterfly. This painting (that I bought in sticker form) speaks volumes to me in the way of a dog’s spirit. Here we have a huge creature that could easily harm a smaller one, yet he simply looks on peacefully with the childlike innocence of curiosity. A gentle giant.

Check out Amy Brazil’s website . Her beautiful artwork is inspiring.
