A Dog Whinery—Mutt Lynch Winery

March 13, 2006 at 8:52 pm by J*B*

Now here’s the thing. I am not much of a wine connoisseur, but I know what labels I like. I like ones with dogs on them. If they have dogs on them, I know that the wine was created by dog-lovers. And if wine was created by dog-lovers, it has to be good, right? Hey, us dog-lovers got to stick to together!

Merlot

Mutt Lynch Winery caught my eye with their artistic and creative labels. This special winery is located in the Dry Creek Valley in Sonoma County, California. The owners decided to combine their love of dogs with their passion for wine. Without taking themselves nor their business too seriously, Mutt Lynch Winery has created four distinctly unique and delightful bottles of wine— Livermore Valley Merlot Merlot Over and Play Dead; Sonoma County Zinfandel/Carignane Portrait of a Mutt; Canis Major (Zinfindel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah); and the newest wine, Sonoma County Chardonnay Unleashed. All are of outstanding pedigree.

I’m a Merlot-kinda girl, so the first I would try would be Merlot Over and Play Dead (love it!), but I love the Unleashed name and label, too.

Unleashed

Now, granted, I have not tried their exciting wines for myself, but one, MuttLynch Wine is from Sonoma, and two, they have dogs on the label. Dogs! They had me at “woof.”

You see, while Western horoscope operates by a monthly cycle, the Chinese horoscope is dictated by the year. Each year an animal is paired with an element. Hence, The Year of the Fire Dog.

Lotus

So, to celebrate this 2006, check out Bodhi Toys. This chi-riffic company has created an entire line of high-quality Chinese-themed dog toys. You can choose from:
