Better Than a Bottle Cap—Pillbug Cat Toys
March 1, 2006 at 7:18 pm by J*B*The thing I noticed about cats—well, mine in particular—is that when I buy them a charming, pricey cat toy, they play with it for all of five minutes, ditch it, then look for a piece of fuzz to bat around with instead. It seems that if a cat toy is actually meant to be a cat toy, my cats will humor it, then go back to playing with the pen cap, thread-ball, or dust bunny they found 10 minutes prior to the “authentic” cat toy was introduced—cat-nip or no.
So, why do I keep buying them expensive cat toys when I know that a good, old bottle cap will do the trick? Because cat-toy manufacturers keep making their toys too darn cute to pass up! This time, I figure, if I buy a cat toy that actually looks like a piece of thread or lint, my cats will love it.
