Pet Peeve: Turning Puppies into Purses

January 15, 2006 at 9:54 pm by J*B*

I think it is wonderful that more and more companies are designing elegant, designer bags with the explicit purpose of carrying your small dog around with style and class. And, I am all for having your dog by your side everywhere you go.

PupPurse

However, I do have a pet peeve that concerns doggy transport—puppy purses. Are you familiar with these devises? They essentially turn a small dog into a fashion accessory, and that is not, what I believe, dogs or any animals are for. Dogs deserve to wear the latest fashions, no doubt, but they are not fashion statements. When a person turns a dog into a fashion accessory, I fear that they have adopted the dog for all the wrong reasons; therefore endangering the dog’s welfare after the “fad” disappears.

Although many people may purchase these puppy purses because they look comfortable for themselves (and assume they are comfortable for their dogs), they just bug me.

Everyone has different things that bother him or her. For example, some peoples’ pet peeve is alliteration. My pet peeve is puppy purses.

Bee Adorable

January 15, 2006 at 2:54 pm by J*B*

I know we feature a lot of small dog apparel, but we just can’t help it! How adorable is this little honeybee outfit we found at CuteDogShop? Not only is it comfortable and warm, this yellow-and-black striped long-sleeved shirt has cute little wings pinned to the middle that flap when your dog runs!

Bee

I am allergic to bees, and even I think that this is one of the most endearing dog shirts we have discoverecd. And priced at only $26.50, it is also one of the best deals, as well.

CuteDogShop has many reasonably priced items that will keep your pup looking stylish all year round, but will not break your bank account doing so. For example, you can purchase a pink or blue, preppy cable-knit sweater for only $18.99. Or, buy a girly, multi-colored polka-dot shirt for only $8.99!

To be perfectly honest with you, there is another reason that we wanted to feature this site. Doesn’t this little Shih-Tzu model have the sweetest face a dog can have? I love her … or him.

Frontline Plus: The Best Flea Treatment

January 15, 2006 at 11:00 am by LaLa MaMa

FRONTLINE Plus is the longest-lasting, most complete spot-on flea and tick protection available. FRONTLINE Plus not only kills 98-100% of adult fleas on your pet within 24 hours, it also contains a special ingredient that kills flea eggs and larvae, too, and keeps ALL stages of fleas from developing. And, FRONTLINE Plus kills all stages of 4 major ticks including the ones that may transmit Lyme disease and Rocky Mountain spotted fever.

We ordered Frontline in two sizes for both of our babies, and within weeks, the fleas were gone. Even the hair that Charlotte chewed off is growing steadily in! (I whispered to my little dear to grow hair for her mama, and my good little girl did her homework!) With a new grooming, she’ll be on her way to model-quality beautiful.

She’s feeling much better, too, it seems, and that’s most important. NO scratchy! Except for those ear rubs and doggie massages I give her. Ahh, it’s back to the sweet life.
