J* B* is Back with NYC Dog Toys!

January 30, 2006 at 9:12 pm by J*B*

I’m back! Did you notice I was gone? No? Hmmm … Well, I was. I was in New York City, home of the $1.00 pretzel, the whizzing cabs, fashionable shopping, and in my opinion, some of the friendliest people in the world. I really mean that! Every time I was lost (going completely straight on Madison), all I had to do was ask one of the many folks walking by where I wanted to go, and they directed me without hesitation.

NYC 1

Yep, NYC is a cool place, but unfortunately I could not bring Scout with me. But I did see plenty of little city dogs dressed to the K-nines in their designer trends and diamond-studded collars. Love it!

So, to celebrate my trip to New York City, I would like to share with you these fun and chewy City-themed dog toys I found at Downtown Dogs. Choose from the Empire States Building, a downtown taxi cab, or my favorite, the Statue of Liberty–complete with a dog bowl and bone cradled in her arms.

I don’t know about you, but I am buying all of them. Then, Scout can really take a bite out of the Big Apple!

Cupid’s Right Around the Corner!

January 30, 2006 at 9:00 am by DarlaKitt

Valentine’s Day is coming up quickly, so we all better get our butts in gear and get those pups ready for some lovin’! Lucky for us, the folks over at The Trendy Puppy are on the ball, with some fantastic lovey-dovey duds for doggies.

Their Puppy Love gift set of tank tops is the perfect way for you to show your pooch some love. Or for a classy show of affection, dress your beloved in one of their pink or blue tees with a simple red heart appliqué. And how cute would it be for a special doggie “couple” to wear darling matching shirts out on a “date?”heart dog shirt

If your pup’s a real hottie who likes to strut his or her stuff, the Heartbreaker ribbed tank is a must-have. I absolutely love the cool-as-hell tattoo style of the arrow-through-the-heart design.

Let your poochies show some love this Valentine’s Day and wear their hearts on their sleeves … or their backs …

January 29 Rings in 2006: the Year of the Dog

January 29, 2006 at 11:21 am by LaLa MaMa

Today rings in the Year of the Dog for Asian countries and beliefs, here at Pet-Pet, we say that every day is the day of dogs, our wonderful little companions.

Year of the DogWe should be happily celebrating this as the year of the dog, but instead, I’m moved to sadder thoughts; of the reality in China with dogs. (I won’t say much, it’s too upsetting. Do the research, if you’re prepared to face facts.) And yet Chinese citizens act to idolize the creature in their ceremonies. At least not all Asian countries are the same.

We need to listen to the descriptions given to people born this year, “loyal and honest,” and recognize that this is the dog. Dogs are the most domesticated animal; they are really meant to be family. I’ve also read about other treatment and views on the pets, on a blog recently. In rural areas, more generally, dogs are treated more like animals; kept outside, even sleeping outside. Dogs are meant to be around their “pack,” although that is not the perfect word for a perfectly domesticated creature, again; “family” is.

I now call for this to be a year for pet lovers to bring awareness to adopting and caring for family dogs.

(Please don’t say anything upsetting in comments, we have sensitive readers and writers.)

A New Way to Snuggle!

January 28, 2006 at 9:00 am by DarlaKitt

Boston Terriers are notorious for loving to sleep in the bed with their people. And I mean, “in the bed,” as in all the way under the covers. My Murphy is no different, and if given the chance, he’s right down in there, burrowing his way between the sheets and hogging up a whole lotta my leg room to boot. As much as I love the company, it’s high time I found him his own little “under the covers” retreat and liberated my sprawl-space.

Snuggle Sacks by Sherrie are the perfect people-bed alternatives for any under-the-covers snuggle-monster. These cozy creations are like sleeping bags, but open at both ends, and are made of cushy quilted cotton fabric, lined with soft plush. A Snuggle Sack is like a doggie bed and blanket all in one!

The best part about Snuggle Sacks? Sherrie will custom-create them for each and every fuzzy customer. The exterior fabric is available in 9 different colors, and you can choose from 7 different colors of interior plush. You can also choose to have the Snuggle Sack monogrammed with your pet’s name in one of 6 different embroidered fonts.

And Snuggle Sacks aren’t just for dogs. Cats love them, too! And ferrets! They come in 3 generous sizes, and are even available custom-sized for extra-large or teeny-tiny snugglers.

Oh, I almost forgot the other best part about Snuggle Sacks by Sherrie. The photo gallery on her page is chock full of the most adorable pics of her happy customers, lounging and snoozing in their new cuddly digs. And there are LOTS of Boston Terriers! None quite as cute as my Murphy man, of course, but super-duper cute nonetheless.

She’s Too Sexy for Her Shirt

January 26, 2006 at 9:00 am by DarlaKitt

Since my last post was about clothing especially for boy doggies, I thought I’d feature a very special item that is definitely just for the ladies. We all know a female pooch who is just too gorgeous, too beautiful, too sexy for a T-shirt, even the “girly” ones.
pink dog corset
So I present to you this fabulous alternative. The Dog Corset! Corsets are hot fashion items right now in the people world, popping up on starlets and brides all over the place. Why not let your furry little lady in on the sexy fun?

These darling pieces of puppy lingerie are available in 9 different designs from Classy Cats and Canines .Com, and are sure to make your baby girl stand out in a crowd. Each sexy little number is decorated with its own chic combination of lace, fancy trim, ruffles, satin and marabou.

If I had a girl dog, I’d totally vamp her up in the “Exquisite,” a dramatic style of hot pink satin and intricate black lace. I also absolutely love the dreamy blue “So Chic,” with its criss-crossing lace-up design and black bow.

So if your little queenie is expecting a hot date for Valentine’s Day or if she’s just an everyday vixen, treat her to the ultra-feminine lacy delight she deserves and deck her out in a doggie corset.

Va-va-voom! Or should I say “Ra-ra-ruff!”
