Hang In Style

December 26, 2005 at 5:03 pm by J*B*

Stop shoving your beautiful (and not to mention pricey) dog couture into drawers and empty shelves. Instead, hang up your pup’s garments in style with these beautiful, hand-painted mini hangers, especially made for doggy designs.

PinkHanger

Ladybug Art knows that any tasteful dog’s wardrobe is not complete without matching hangers! These super-chic hangers are available in three different colors: pink, green and cream—all with matching French ribbon bows.

The hangers are sold in sets of three with silhouettes of your choice of breed: French bulldog, terrier, Chihuahua, or beagle. But, don’t fret if your dog’s breed, or lack thereof, is not on the list. Just contact Ladybug Art for more breed pictures. Perhaps they can create some hangers especially for your dog. Hey, it couldn’t hurt to ask.

Do away with creases and wrinkles. Unless, of course, your dog’s name is Creases or Wrinkles…

Christmas Miracle Foam Bed

Tasha in the X-Large Fleece Lounger

Tasha received her big (and I mean big) Christmas present a few days early. It was two X-Large Fleece Lounger Beds, from PETCO, similar to this Bed Buddies Twill Lounger.

We got the largest size, which when Tasha first got into, was a bit snug. She was awkwardly trying to fit and get comfortable, but we could see in her eyes that she wanted to be happy with it—for us! What a good girl. (I need to be more like she is.)

But once sleepies-time came, she truly loved the bed. Usually, she cries at night, in pain from hip dysplasia, and gets up for various other reasons. Since she’s had the bed, she sleeps through the night without incident, and only gets up for potty breaks.

The high sides give her trouble when she’s getting out to move about, but she does ok. They’re more beneficial than a problem, because they make her feel secure, and add extra support to her hips, thighs, and back.

It’s the fleecy, foamy body of the bed that is the best for her, though. It doesn’t feel like a blanket on the floor, it truly pads and gives comfort, just like a bed should.

Why, at first, Tasha wouldn’t even get out of those beds! Except to move to one in a different room. She didn’t want to follow me through the house, or anything.

But of course, the temperature rose, so we’ve allowed the front door open for doggie viewing through the glass door—and she’s been up a lot looking out! We’ve even set up the living room bed in front of the door. Boy, is she one happy doggie, now.

Thank Santa for a mini(X-Large) Christmas Miracle.

Post Holiday Inventory

December 26, 2005 at 2:44 pm by DarlaKitt

So the big day has finally passed, and it’s time to take stock of Murphy’s new loot. I can finally trash some of his older stuff to make room for the piles of gifts he received. You see, as my boyfriend and I have no children, and as our parents have no grandchildren from our siblings either, Murphy is considered the “grand-dog,” and is totally spoiled as such.

devil chew toyThe “grandparents” ransacked Fun Stuff For Dogs .Com, and lavished Murph with lots of fun new stuff he’s going crazy about. The Bad Cuz chewy is a tough latex squeaker toy with a remarkably loud squeak. Murphy loves chasing the unpredictable bounce all over the living room, and I adore the cute little feet and horns, which perfectly symbolize our “little devil.”

nut and bolt dental chew toy“Grandpop” is in the construction business and presented Murphy with the Nut and Bolt gum-massaging chew toy. The pieces actually work, and you can screw them together for a dumb-bell shaped toy, or screw apart to play with the pieces separately. Available in bright construction-worker orange, gray or black, this toy is peppermint-scented to pique your pup’s interest.

French fry rawhide chewsMurphy’s lust for “people food” is legendary among our family, as he’s been known to snatch any stray bit he can get his stubby little teeth into, so Doggie Fries were a perfect gift. These 100% natural, French-fry-shaped rawhide treats come packaged in a fast-food-style box, and have a delectable chewy texture that’s sent Murphy swooning.

It’s been a heckuva great holiday for the Murphy dog this year, and he’s asked me to publicly thank all of his very generous family members for their terrific gifts. He also apologizes for not buying stuff for them, but wants to assure everyone that he will smother them with kisses next time he visits.
