What a Fabulous Bag!

So, I ran into an old friend of mine the other week when everyone was visiting home for the holiday. We were out at a local bar, and as I saddled up to her table for a little catching-up chat I noticed her extremely adorable pink and black handbag sitting on the table.
“Oh, my god. That’s a great bag! Where did you find it?” I asked.
She smiled her sly smile and said, “It’s not really a handbag; it’s my dog carrier.”
Taken aback, I gave her a playful shove and said, “Get the (blank) outta here!”
She laughed and explained. “No, it’s for the dog, but I forgot to pack a ‘going out bag’ for the trip, so I figured what the hell. It’s cute, huh?”
Heck yeah, it was cute! Very functional, too. It even had a faux fur bottom to keep her snuggly little lady-dog warm and comfy. And it’s airline-approved so my friend could cuddle her puppy for the whole three-hour flight home.
Upon further investigation, I found this adorable bag/carrier available on PETCO.com The PETote Bali 2
comes in sizes for 6 - 12 lb puppies and an assortment of fab colors, like red/black
, tan/brown
, and baby blue/black
. I just love, love, love the cool “bowling bag” design, and am seriously thinking about getting Murphy a pint-sized playmate so I have a reason to buy one for myself.

PETCO also offers the stylish Sherpa Montreal Pet Tote
. This sleek carrier is made of moc-croc and sports two large exterior pockets with easy-access magnetic snap closures. It holds pets up to 12 lbs and is available in classic black, shiny red/black, chocolatey brown, elegant bone, and cognac- a very cool amber/rust color.
The Sherpa line also includes spiffy clutches to stash treats, toys, poopy bags, and other doggie-diaper-bag-type items in a fashionably discreet way. I will definitely be purchasing one of these, as I’ve grown a bit self-conscious about the large Ziploc bag I currently employ for this purpose.
A dog carrier that’s stylish enough to do double-duty as a ‘going out’ bag in a pinch? And at under $100? What more could a girl, and her pooch, want?
