Neat Tees

November 16, 2005 at 5:13 pm by DarlaKitt

Novelty tees for dogs have been around for a while, I’m sure you’ve seen the ones with simple words like “Diva,” “Spoiled,” “Brat,” “Angel,” and “Princess,” just like the shirts that pre-teen girls wear around the mall.

These shirts are very cute, but as always, Murphy and I like to look for things that are a little, um, different. Like the “Bad to the Bone” tee we found on Doggie Nation. It’s classic black with white print and an off-kilter bone.

Since Murphy is a bit of a rocker, I also love the “Rolling Bones” tee, complete with a rendering of the Rolling Stones’ lips and tongue logo. For a funny reality check, you can dress your pup in the “I Poop, U Scoop” tee from G.W. Little.

And, of course, no collection of novelty tees would be complete without a great parody shirt and one with political significance:

Everyone is familiar with those shirts, bumper stickers, and mugs that let the world know who one’s heavenly co-pilot is. But my dog is in my passenger seat much more often than any heavenly presence, so I like to think of him as my co-pilot, and luckily there’s a shirt that says so. Next time Murphy’s cruising in my Escort, he will be wearing the “Co-Pilot” shirt from The Central Barker.

In today’s climate of political controversy, it’s only fair to give your dog an opportunity to exercise his right to express his feelings. What better way than on a T-shirt? The “Dogs Against Bush” tee is a perfect way to let him display his political opinion. I only wish I would have found this shirt before the last election. Hopefully, the folks over at Dogs Hate Bush.com will put some new gear together for 2008.

But, whatever your dog’s political stance may be, it’s still fun to let them express their personalities through novelty tees, just like us.
