Oh, Vey! Chewish Dog Toys

October 25, 2005 at 8:27 pm by J*B*

Well, if these dog toys don’t put the oy in oy vey! Any person of Jewish decent can appreciate these adorable stuffed toys. And even if you are a goy, you’ll get a giggle, too.

Bagel

Schlep on over to The Down Town Dog Pet Boutique and check out their all their “Chewish” squeaky toys. Throw your dog a Kosher bone, or provided it isn’t Yom Kippur of course, toss your dog some Chumuitz. And if your pup is a big barker, give her the lip-shaped Yenta toy. How appropriate!

Trust us, they’re not shclocky. These are first-rate plush toys that your dog will go meshugeneh over! So, don’t be a yutz! Fork over the gelt and buy one of these toys for your little bubbellah at home.

And as my bubby always says: “Give me a bissel lox on my bagel, would you, darling?” Sure thing, Grandma!

Speaking of Hamsters…

October 25, 2005 at 8:15 pm by DarlaKitt

So after I read J.B.’s post about hamster fans, I got to thinking … Hmmm, I wonder if there really are that many (adult) people who dig hamsters? Of course, I started goofing around the Internet immediately, because I just had to know.

So raise your glasses, hamster people, and whip out those credit cards, this one’s for you!

Hamster CalendarThe British Pet Web Site for Hamsters has any kind of hamster paraphernalia the true hamster-lover could ever dream of. It’s even divided into breed specific areas. So whatever type of hamster you’re into, you’re sure to be most pleased with the abundant selection of items bearing the likeness of your hamster of choice. How stupid of me to assume that hamsters only come in one variety: Hamster.

Anyway, on this site you will find some very special items sure to please any hamster fanatic. Tired of the boring hamster tee? Get a hamster thong! It may be hidden, but you’ll know it’s there. If you’d rather flaunt your love of these little furballs with faces, deck out your place with a hamster clock and some throw pillows. Take your hamster love on the road with an “I Love Hamsters” messenger bag, and toss in a hamster journal to jot down those fuzzy hamster thoughts.

At Zazzle, artists and designers offer custom products with all kinds of images, but of course the only images I was interested in checking out were those of hamsters. I’m totally ordering the Hamster Rock & Roll T-shirt that depicts a fluffy superstar rocking out with a microphone stand. Have a friend with a hamster army? Check out the shirt scrawled with “My Evil Hamsters Will Destroy You.”

Now all of these hamster things are fabulous indeed, but my personal favorite has to be the assortment of plush dancing hamsters I found at Wonderfully Wacky. They have on cute little outfits and sing pop songs! The “Big Man on Campus” is decked out in graduation gear and sings “School’s Out” by Alice Cooper. “Carly” sings “She Works Hard for the Money” by Donna Summer, dressed as a businesswoman. And, this one is the best, “Nigel” does one helluva rendition of Cheap Trick’s “I Want You to Want Me,” in a miniature black pleather jacket.

I only wish I had some hamster-lovin’ friends to buy all this stuff for. Hmm, my sister had one when we were kids … I wonder if she still digs them…
