Kissing and Hugging Your Pet

A recent Dateline NBC special told us that 63% of pet owners kiss their pets. Well, of course! They need love, too. How can an affectionate person not smother-wother that wittle-bittle?
There is some controversy to it … as well as some nay-sayers. I’m going to lay out the bottom-line positives for you.
- Although a licking from your dog may not occur because he or she loves you, it might still stem from affection or respect. It varies with each dog. Read the history and psychology of dog licks.
- Dog’s mouths are not all that healthy. Just think about it. Still, a kiss on your pet’s mouth is safer to you than kissing your boyfriend … especially those playboys. No matter where your dog’s been, the bacteria in a dog’s mouth is species-specific.
Ella’s bottom line: They’re called PETS! Kiss ‘em & hugg ‘em and give them all your love!
